The S&P 500 closed the week at 7,585.73, a decline of about 1.14% over the seven-day period and down 2.57% in the latest session. The index remains well inside its 52-week range of 6,316.91 to 7,816.70.
The U.S. large-cap technology proxy (XLK) traded at 183.74, falling roughly 1.89% for the week and 3.30% in the most recent session. Technology underperformed the broad market this week and sits below its 52-week high of 198.73.
Trading reflected a modest risk-off tilt and compressed liquidity, with intra-week selling amplifying session moves. Market participants appeared to favor de-risking over new positioning, producing sharper downside moves than the weekly percentages alone suggest.
What this means for our strategy: Our systematic framework continues to apply defined risk controls, adjust position sizes to observed volatility, and maintain liquidity buffers. We will adhere to our models for rebalancing and exposure management rather than reacting to short-term headline-driven moves.
