Market Update — Week of August 26, 2026

S&P 500 ended near 7,677, essentially flat for the week after a strong late-session gain; technology lagged but rebounded intraday. We remain systematic and risk-disciplined with liquidity-aware position management.

U.S. equities were largely range-bound this week. The S&P 500 finished near 7,677 (last 7,677.28), down approximately -0.19% on the week and up +3.58% in the latest session; its 52-week range is 6,316.91–7,816.70.

The technology sector underperformed over the seven-day window. The XLK (proxy for large-cap U.S. technology) traded at 181.74, about -2.09% on the week and +3.33% in the latest session; its 52-week range is 126.68–198.73. The group showed an intraday recovery but remains shy of its recent highs.

What this means for our strategy: we continue to follow our systematic, risk-managed approach. Volatility and drawdown filters remain active, allocations are driven by model signals rather than short-term headlines, and execution is mindful of market liquidity to avoid adverse impact during thin windows. We will rebalance and adjust exposures in line with our rules-based framework while monitoring market breadth and intraday dynamics.
